Hiya! I was just wondering if anyone here has any high-quality Ocean logos that I could have? I have looked on the Internet, but there are no excellent quality ones. I am looking for the old 80's one, with all the colour on (not the block colour simpler one). I am a huge fan of Ocean, and even though I'm just 15 I have played the games all my life. I got a C64 for Christmas (we sold our old one) and so now I'm almost obsessed with it! I want an Ocean logo so that I can print it out and stick it on my wall, or use it as a desktop. The other logo I would be interested in is The Hit Squad logo. I really love this one, and used to draw it all over my schoolbooks! I large high-quality version of this would be excellent. I wondered if you still had any digital copies on your computers from when you worked at Ocean? I hope I don't sound like I want to steal them or something like that, I'm just a true fan that wants some cool stuff on their wall! Thanks! P.S. I think Atari should release games under the Ocean/Imagine name, because It is such a recognised company in the UK so as well as a welcome return, the games would probably sell better. After all Ocean meant quality! (I sound like a fanboy, don't I ) EDIT: Also does anyone have a Hit Squad inlay template, ie. the tape inlay with no text on, just the logo, background, borders, etc?

Hi. I'm sure Bill would have a logo, or maybe Junior....?
They check this forum regularly, so expect a response sometime. Good luck!
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks, Gary! (Gary as in Gary Bracey?!)
My first post was a bit long, so I'll sum up what I am asking for: -Big, high quality 80's Ocean logo (the flashy/sparkly full colour one, not the single colour one) -Big, high quality Hit Squad logo (the C64 one, not the Amiga or PC one) -Real size Hit Squad blank template
Thanks to everyone at Ocean!!
EDIT: Who actually designed the logos? And does anyone have a complete list of all the Hit Squad games released and what number it was? I'm collecting them all and I need a checklist to keep me on track. I'm sorry if I'm asking for too much by the way.

I'm presuming that Steve Blower did the later Ocean logos, the more detailed ones. Couldn't tell you did the very first one though. I'll have a look at my stuff and see if I can find a decent sized logo for you. This is the biggest one I've got: As for a Hit Squad inlay with just the logo and borders the only way you're going to get one of them is to scan one in then to hollow it out on Photoshop or the like.

I'm pretty sure Steve Blower did the logos (he did the infamous Imagine one too). I always liked the Gold Ocean logo that Carl did for Batman. Probably the best way to get a hires logo would be to scan one of the old A3 Ocean posters - I used to have a few framed (sad I know!) I'll have a sniff in the atic next time I'm up there.

Hmmm.... The quality of that is a bit weird. It's kinda blurred. Anyway, how did you make them Hit Squad covers? Did you get an original game cover, cut it out and stick it on the Hit Squad template? I'm trying to collect every Hit Squad game. I have about 20 at the moment. Does anyone have a complete list of them all? After Ocean finished making games for the C64 in 1992, did all the HS files get deleted (too many questions!!)? Oh, and by big I meant: This logo is quite discoloured and has a crease on it. Did these files also get deleted with the Infogrames takeover (grrrr.... )? Oh, and has anyone got a large Hit Squad logo too.....? (I really must stop asking questions!)

If you wanted the 'pure' digital version of the logo, then I think you are out of luck. The Art Dept at Ocean used a Macintosh package called Quark Express to layout all of the materials and therefore, to the best of my knowledge, I don't think they existed in a more common format (PSD, JPG, BMP, PSD, etc). Also, the logos used in the games themselves would have been relatively low resolution and therefore also not suitable for your requirements.
Perhaps the only real solution is, as Paul suggests, scanning a really good piece of artwork and enlarging it. Not ideal, but I think you will be hard-pressed to aobtain an original digital graphic (of the size you are looking for).
Sorry. I hope I'm wrong, though!

I managed to "restorate" the Ocean logo from a Daley Thompson poster I found on World of Spectrum. The brown has gone, and so has the crease. I can use it now: Now all I need is a large Hit Squad logo... EDIT: I made it even better quality, but the file size is too big to host...
