i'll bet he has a tanned head and forearms. That's the usual Jock thing, we don't overdo it.

Re the Tom Lanigan part,
The guy actually is the new IT manager were I work, he started about 2 months ago. very sound guy.
I spoke to him about 2 weeks ago obout his programming days, basically he hasn't been doing it atall for over 10 years he says it wasn't paying well and that with all the places going bust you never knew were you were working from one day to another.
Anyone wanting to catch up can always pass a message onto me and I make sure Tom gets it

Hi All I see that most of the crew is turning up and seing that I am world famous already. I should turn up at least once a month and answer some of the questions rasied on this site. Q1 Young boys A1 We where all young once and just because you dont have a nuclear reactor does not mean you can't design one. Q2 Car Immobiliser A2 I dont know myself I relenquished all rights when I left. Jons failed due to some one using silicon bath sealant on the connecters to stabalise the wires. It was hard coded and could not fail. Q3 Arcade design A3 Ocean did not spend a wad of cash on this. In all probably about 25k plus wages. It only took me 3 months to design and build the whole thing. Q4 sprite multiplexer A4 This originally came from Mike Webb who converted it from the vertical bubble sort into a shell metzner sort. Tony and Myself optimized the code to do a single pass bubble then if a second pass was required call the shell metzner sort. This gave us the constant time required to do all the other colour scrolly stuff. Q5 overlaid sprites A5 Mm not sure completely we probabaly saw another game that tried to do it, then we decided that we could it better by double latching the overlayed sprites on top of each other. One of my other tricks was to flip the sprites in real time using illegal instructions namely lax table,y this would set x to a value indexed by y from the table. saving all of 2 cycles per byte. This technique was used in Ye ar Kung fu. And Tony I have still not forgotten our side bet although does burtons still trade . Nice site Dave Collier

Hi Dawn, Hope you and the family are well? As Paulie mentioned I'm over @ Sony in Liverpool now and its only a 15 min drive home. Unlike the 1 hour drive to Ocean and 1.5 hour drive to Warthog. 14 bloody years driving to Mancsville, I must have been mad but never mad enough to move there ) Take it easy, Ivan
