Don't bother writing to them...I dropped them a line but they're obviously too high-falootin' to bother with the oiks from way back when.
Money can't buy you manners eh?

No - not true; John absolutely loves and adores me. Or at least that's his official line now. I'm sure John and Mike will make some posts sometime soon as I can tell you neither of them is too 'high-falootin' (well John can be sometimes ). FYI - Mike is no longer at Left Field Productions. He retired at the end of Feb 2003. John became LFP's President and I'm the CEO. Mike is doing a lot of traveling; learning to sail and is going to be a dad. Mike is often back in the UK and I'm sure he'd be up for a drink (on him - of course) if he's in your neighbourhood. Congratulations to Bill on a great site. And don't forget to check out www.left.comand www.impulsegames.com (under construction)

Blimey! Howdo Mr H - Welcome to retro heaven! I stand most humbly corrected!
How's life in the land of the sun?
Mike's retired? Blimey! Is there anymore of the old gang at Left Field (Rob H's still there isn't he?)
Go on, prod Elmer to say "hi!"
- Paulie.

Hi Paul,
Rob H is unfortunately no longer with LFP. Somewhere in Colorado now - I believe.
Are you still at Warthog/Gizmondo?

James,
Whatever happened to Jobee?

Well - I can't say for absolute certainty, but I can tell you what I think I know...
Jobee formed a company back in 93/94 (Clockwork Tortoise) with Steve "Jolly" Thompson and another. Robert Hemphill worked there too. They pretty much imploded while doing a Batman game for Sega up in San Francisco. Steve went back to the UK; Robert came to LFP and Jobee ( I don't remember where I heard this ), went back to Ireland and opened a coffee shop with his American girlfriend. That's the last I heard.
You didn't ask, but I figure someone else might be curious...
Mick West - is also out of the industry. He retired about two years ago after the phenomenol success of Tony Hawk 1-3 and THUG. Living in Sunny Santa Monica with his wife Holly. NKY.
Don McDermott - as far as I know is also still in CA, living south of LA (Long Beach - perhaps) and is married to an American girl. Haven't seen him for a few years.
Elmer - well I'm sure he'll fill out his own details soon.

I spoke to Jobbee a couple of years back about doing some GBA stuff for us (he used to post a lot on the GBC forums and we got back in touch)
I'd heard he'd set up a tea room/coffee bar back in Ireland with his missus - not sure if he's still in the industry - it would be a real shame - as with most of the late 80's crew at Ocean he was an absolute genius!
Remember when he almost kicked off with Alan Sugar's brother in law - he sat up all night hanging over Jobbee's shoulder waiting for the final version of "Burnin' Rubber".

James and John always got on fairly well from my recollection. While never bosom buddies, I can't recall one ever dissing the other.
Don is another story entirely. John (Elmer) thought Don was sent by the devil to be his tormentor!

Don WAS sent by Satan to be everybody's tormentor. The fact that he knew more than everybody else on the face of the planet was just astounding...I don't know why david Ward and Jon Woods just didn't hand over the keys to Ocean to him the day he started. Maybe they were waiting for Jack Wikely...he was as wise as Don.
