So I'm looking into producing a book "celebrating" Spectrum graphics from various games, including Ocean games. The plan is to produce this book along the lines of the Buro Destruct's 'Electronic Plastic' book only featuring enlarged sprites, frames of animations, screenshots, etc. from Speccy games, showing them off and with each game featured there'd be info about the developers involved, publisher, year published. The thing I have to find out is about the copyright of using these graphics. I'm really just compiling the book and, being a graphic designer, setting the layout to show off these graphics. Now "fair use" has been mentioned to me, but I need to find out more about this myself the other alternative being to seek out every graphic artist , whose work appears in the book, and ask for there permission. Now, seeing as this is Ocean's Forum, what would there take be on it?

I have no problems with this at all. In fact it would be interesting to see a book based on the Ocean titles. It would probably do very weel in Europe as they seem to hold Ocean in much higher esteem than anyone here in the UK.

That's great news, Simon. In fact, I plan to do a section on the different versions of the Ocean logo (as well as others, too).
What I'm going to do now is a mock-up of a couple of pages as examples to show what I'd like to achieve. When I've done that, I'll let you know so you can have a gander.
