This is going to sound crazy and it's a big question too. I apologize if anyone is offended.
I'm part of the NESdev community. We continually research this console for information and to develop our own demos and games.
Recently, I went on a source-code hunt and I have ran into a fair amount of material. These packages have helped us immensely to study NES development. Mainly, they work on the real hardware and this is important indeed.
My hunt continues for source-code/tools/development kits to aid in our study. I'm also interested in SNES games as well, but not as much as NES at the current moment.
Also, any that are released will remain as a part of video game history and that's also important. All the hardwork that a development team went through is just totally awesome if you ask me.
Anyways, seriously consider my request and if granted, I and many other people will be happy indeed.
Thank you so much.
PS. I see that posts on this board are sparse at times. So, if months down the line anyone sees this post, you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Say, if I'm not happening to pay attention at that exact moment. But I will be stopping by often to see what's going on.
