Bill, with all the banter about lost/unfinished titles on the forum have you considered putting together a `Missing in Action` section up on the main site, listing titles that never were, how far they progressed, and why they didn't see the light of day?
I'd certainly like to see this, and from the looks of it Swainy would too.

Butler worked on the graphics of 'Batman The Adventure' that was finished but never released. I saw it once.

I think that was the very last of the ocean "little bit of everything" games.. i recall it had a speccy sized stat panel that took up nearly a quarter of the screen...

Nope...Batman the adventure...
it was me and Ian Weatherburn reusing the Neverending Story / Hunchback the Adventure engine for the third time...I had pretty mush finished all 3 versions of the graphics (speccy, 64 and Amstrad...ah bliss...3 versions.) but then the plug was pulled.
Can't remember why and Ian's not around to ask.

Didn't Elmer start doing "Wings of the Apache" on the Gameboy - the film tanked - and it became Navy Seals?

Different movie, Paul.
'Wings Of The Apache' became 'Firebirds' an equally duff a movie as 'Navy Seals'!

Bloody Hell... I'd forgotten Radio Flyer...
Good one there Gary!
A perfect example of just buying any bloody license and trying to make a game out of it. It was perfectly obvious that no-one had a clue what the film was about...but it had Tom Hanks in it...a voice over part that he isn't even crditied for as he asked for his name to be removed.
Directed by Rochard Donner the man behind The Goonies and Superman 1 and 2 so it had to be good...bound to be a game in there somewhere eh?
Oh yeah right...if you fancy playing a game based on a film about two small boys terrorised and subsequently molested by their evil stepfather.
wonderful.

Unfortunately, I can't take the credit for Radio Flyer - R.M. qualifies for that particular one. Believe me, it was the cause of many heated arguments between us as - from my perspective: 1) The script was no good ( licenses were acquired on the strength of the scripts, as that was pretty much all we had to go by) 2) The story was about child abuse. A 'challenging' subject for a videogame, second only to 'Rainman' for innovative game design material.
Interesting that the pitch from Universal was that it's about a boy who goes on wonderful adventures via his flying cart! Thinking back, I must have been the only person to actually have read the script.
So, no I'm afraid I can't take the credit for that. You'll have to find something else to have a go at me about (red rag).
As an aside, was the game ever actually developed? I genuinely don't remember....

There was a knock-up illustration on the SNES showing the Radio Flyer being constructed from parts. Not much time was spent on it.
