Hi All,
Gaz B here (Gareth Betts - to use my Sunday name). I was with Ocean / Infogrames / Atari for 14 years before departing in September 2005. I am now working just downstairs from Ivan Davies at SCEE Liverpool. Nice to see some familiar names and faces. Apart from Ivan, not really seen too many of the old school for a while. Name of recent encounters include Lorraine, Tim, Kane (about 18 months ago), Anthony Barlow (pigeon), and I still see a great deal of Lee Cummins for my sins.

Hi Gareth.
Good to hear from you - it's been a while (E3, many years ago, I think!).
As a matter of interest, what was Kane up to these days?
Cheers,
Gary

Yeah where did you see Kane? He never showed up here or to anyone who was here.

Hi All,
E3 2003 I think was the last time our paths crossed Gary, good to hear from you.
In respect to the elusive Kane Valentine, I have met up with Kane on and off for the last 14 years, occasionally at Maine Road or just in Manchester. Myself, Kane and Anthony Barlow all travelled the world together some 14 years ago (but that is a different story altogether) and I try to touch base as often as I can.
Unfortunately the last time I saw Kane he was working and living above a pub in Ashton (Tameside), I met him on a few occasions for beers over the next month or so... After a couple of weeks of no contact I then rang his mobile and the landlord of the pub answered and said that he had not seen Kane for over a week, and if I did let him know where and when.
I got in touch with Kane’s Mother a day later and Kane had surfaced back there, this was about 18 months to 2 years ago. I have since swapped my mobile phone and misplaced Kane’s mothers number, and in turn lost any inroad into contacting Kane.
His mother mentioned that he was in the process of moving back in with his girlfriend and his 2 children. But rest assured he was the same old Kane I am sure you all remember.
Gaz B

Hello World!
I'm David from the PlayStation Museum. I'm here because I grew up with Ocean on my Atari ST. I'm also here to see how Ocean Software played a part in the history of the PlayStation.
Cheers!

You'll have a long wait because no-one bothers to read or post anything these days.
I'm only here out of morbid curiosity...

Did Ocean influence the PSX?

Did Ocean influence the PSX? Well, I think they regarded Ocean quite highly. I remember attending the Tokyo Games Show about 2 years before the PSX was released and Ken Kutaragi (the 'inventor' of the Playstation) gave us a personal demo of the machine, where Phil Harrison showed us an animated dinosaur. Very impressive at the time, and I don't think very many people were privvy to that sort of demo.
