Hi guys,
It great to read (see) all of these familiar faces from the old days.
I have many fond (and not so fond) memories of the old days.
I remember my first day at Ocean, being introduced to everyone.
First is was Paul Owens who was working on the Speccy 128 version of Daley Thompsons Decathlon.
Then there was Jonathan Smith, I think he was working on Mikie at the time - No it was Hypersports I think.
Then there was Dave Collier and Tony Pomfrett who were working on Rambo on the C64. I think Colin Cresty was there also working Comic Bakery but that could have been a little later on.
In the next room was Bill, not to sure what he was working on at the time, Rambo protection I think, and then there was Richard Kay working on Hypersports on the BBC.
There were lots of great characters at Ocean over the 15 years that I worked there, but probably one of the nicest guys I ever knew at Ocean was Paul Finnigan.
Colin Stokes was, well......Colin Stokes.
Kane was a great guy, wonder what he is upto these days.
I'd like to say a big HI to Simon Butler, who was one of the few guys that kept reappearing over the years at Ocean/Infogrames, and he never really seemed to change. I always remember Simon (a bit like John M really) always said what was on his mind and you tended to know where you where with him.
Another big HI to Gary and Lorraine.
I'm sure I shall mention other people later dates.
Just glad to back in the fold.....

Well Lee, I have to say that you are responsible for me sticking it out at Ocean in those first few weeks before I found my feet - or should I say water wings as I decided to swim instead of sink. In my first couple of weeks particularly I was greeted by some hostility, particularly when people realised that I didn't have the foggiest idea what anyone was talking about, let alone what I was supposed to be doing - and who could blame them! I think Gary was relieved that I wasn't Janet and didn't show any great desire to piss on his car though You sat me down and said "this is an Amstrad, this is a Spectrum, this is a Commodore and this is how you load the tapes" and generally showed me the ropes and made me feel welcome. I never expected to stick the industry out for another 18 years. We definately had some great laughs over the years, and why wouldn't we when we shared an office with such a comedian. One of the funniest things was trying to interview Q.A. staff. Gary always made sure that the applicants had their back to him so he could pull faces and make me crack up. It is no wonder I employed so many clowns

Hi Lee,
Nice to see you on here. My favourite memory of you was one morning after an England match.
I heard a wail from the QA room and was amazed to find you with Kevin by the throat. You had such a placid, tolerant deameanor that it was obvious Kevin must have well over-stepped the mark.
I don't know who was most surprised of the two of you.

Hi John, Strangely enough, I was thinking about that incident earlier this week. It's amazing the memories that this website has brought back! I can't remember what exactly triggered me to go for Kevin. All I remember is being sat down one minute, the next about to punch Kevin. The thing is once I had hold of Kevin, I looked over my left shoulder and realised that Lorraine was there - DOH! I must admit, I thought that I was going to get a written warning over that one

Wasn't it something to do with Kev the Bev taking the Piss out of Freddie Mercury or was that another incident?

It could have been about Freddie, but I honestly have no idea. Just remember it was one of the very few occasions where I just flipped. I do remember everyone being quite shocked though at the time

Id forgotten about that but reading the posts now, yeah, I think he'd insulted 'Queen' (not 'THE Queen', the band!) Remember how I used to make stupid voice when ever you came into my view and I'd screech as high as I could 'LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'

As you can see there's been an awful lot of chit chat about you since I sent Bill a photo of you looking 'foxy' which was then sighted on the website!

Wonderful to have you on board at last! Yeah loads of us are here now, it seems that every day now someone from the old days discovers the site and joins in! This week has seen Mike Lamb, Jolly Steve, Lee Cowley and you join. It's really great. Can't believe it really. So far me, Bill, Simon and MAYBE Jolly Steve (he wants to!) and some others who want to go but are making sure they can nearer the time before committing, are doing a Q&A session at the CGEUK show down in London. Should be a laugh. www.cgeuk.com/ (scroll down a page or 2 to see our bit!) I think we wanna have a reunion though before that though. I look forward to reading your posts Dawn and finding out what ya up to, where you are (I'd only put your town, I think there's some people here who are dying for your phone number!) and what you're up to etc. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have !

Greeting Dawn! Hope all is well. No offence meant - I think you've forgotten what i was refering to! It wasn't that you and Don sounded alike it was that Martin used to take the piss out of me because he couldn't tell the difference between when I said Don and Dawn. Cheeky big bugger. Glad to hear you have some photos - Have you got one of Mike reading the paper with his feet up? Mark, Babes you never change...I titter loudly! I can't believe how many of you are on this... Champers to Bill! *But get rid of the Dawn/Don thing=total insult! At least my tits are still perky-ish! Howdy doody? Whats all this about a get together in September?
