Don't you think ? A game like this is a blockbuster !!

I'm afraid I have to disagree. In truth, no matter how good the conversion, it would not have been a 'blockbuster'.
Personally, I didn't think the game was nearly as strong as Rainbow Islands which, despite all of the praise and high marks in the press, didn't exactly achieve 'blockbuster' sales.

Sorry, but Rainbow island even if the game is good, is nowhere as brilliant as Snow bros amiga is. Snow Bros shows 64 colors on screen while Rainbow Islands is only 20 colors on screen, has a pushy scrolling and was
totally killed by the missing levels, that's the MAIN reason why people were frustrated and hesitating to buy it.
When the magazine reviewed the game, they have said
(i remember the french magazine joystick in which people from graftgold said that Ocean didn't allow them to put on another disk the last levels of the game !)

Snow Bros was not a high-profile coin-op which in itself demonstrates the limited appeal - if the coin-op had been popular then the game would have been huge.

Snow Bros coin-op suffers from horrible graphics in 256 colors painted with a fork ! But in itself the game is funny, there's no doubt on it !!
Just ask on the mame forum what they think about it.
Here is the most wronged idea of the game industry.
We, customers, have raised you, games companies because there was a time when creators were allowed
to do wonderful games. And we bought them.
Alas, guys from financial departments have stated what people should love or not depending on the original coin-op sales. What people loves is unpredictable !!!
No economist or whatever out there can say what we love or not.
The truth is that we people, can trashed Games that some well minded people of the industry think are great.
Look dragon ninja. The game has only been published because it was a well known license.
Result on sales ? sales not good ! Because the game is bad.
A famous licence doesn't mean big sales. People are not idiots ready to buy any shit just because it's famous.

So, it's all subjective opinion at the end of the day. By the sound of it, you really like the game, which is fair enough. However, I think it might be a stretch to suggest that it would be similarly embraced by the mass games-buying public. Unfortunately, that was something no-one could (or can) predict!

really ? just look how brilliant the graphics are and technically the game is perfect !
This game is to amiga coin op conversion what beast is to the plateform game !

Finally, as for why Snow Bros was cancelled, I don't honestly remember. I do know that a lot of money was spent on press ads marketing the game, but the slippage began to cause upset internally - we were paying for advertising for a game that wasn't ready. I think everyone lost patience and as Sales and Marketing did not believe it was such a strong title to begin with, then it was probably canned 'by committee'.

PS : for info, the game master has been created in June 1991. The game was said to be sold at this period.
