Flipping through ancient computer game magazines, I have noticed numerous advertisments boldly announcing conversions of high-profile arcade games for the Amiga, such as Combat School, Green Beret and the like. Unfortunately, none of these seem to have materialised, which brings me to this rich and entertaining website How were arcade conversions handled in general? Were 16-bit conversions depending on the license fee demanded by arcade companies? How come Ocean never revisited its vast back catalogue of Konami conversions? Which conversions were in fact put into development but scrapped later? Was it market research or quality control that spelt doom for these Amiga games?
