Nice to see Rik Mayall attending the release of your memoirs. Not much of an autograph though...seems he can only print his name.

Were you the only one who turned up to the book signing Mark? It looks like you had plenty of time to get friendly

No i wasn't the only one there! Don't be ridiculous Lorraine! It was in the bigger of the 2 Waterstone's in Manchester. He started at 12.15 (15 mins early) and was there till 3.30 so I heard. The queue went from the entrance on the pedestrainised bit all the way round the block to the OTHER entrance in Deansgate and past it. I'd never been to a book signing before and was amazed how many people were there.
He was jolly nice too.

I've only been to one myself and that was with Rick Palmer to see Peter Ustinov. Rick went to get his book signed while I hid round the corner - what a wasted opportunity!

I went to one in Liverpool to see the Jewish Cowboy Detective writer...now potential governor of Texas...Kinky Friedman.
He was great...read a bit, talked a lot; really funny by the way and sang a few tunes.
He's a singer with the Texas Jewboys and the writer of a wonderful song called "They ain't making jews like Jesus anymore."
Then he went and played a gig at a club round the corner from the bookstore.
A fine man and a fun writer.
Happy Days
