I just wondered how you all felt about remakes of games that you worked on in the past? Last year I coloured in the Spectrum graphics of Target: Renegade for a project that got canned: www.screwyouhippy.com/tr/Anyhow, the remake scene is pretty big at the moment, so I just thought I'd ask what your take is on it?

I'm not sure. Most remakes I've seen aren't anywhere near as good as the originals. I think improving the graphics ruins them really cos the beauty of the old Spectrum and C64 games was that they left a lot to your imagination.
I've seen some on the Mac that are good, like 'Head Over Heels' but essentially it the exact same game you could play on an emulator but with more colour and better sound. And having better graphics and sound makes no difference to the actual playability.
I'd rather, me personally, fire up an emulator and play the original.

Have you played Class of 99? Updated version of Skool Daze, all they did was colour the spectrum sprites. Looks great though.
Get it on Retrospec.
