Hi Dawn, I was just wondering if you could help me clear up something... i've been trying to find out more about the C64 conversion of Charlie Chaplin by US Gold. www.ozkan.co.uk/gtw/Pages/Review_Charliechaplin.htm I was good friends with the sadly late Martin Holland, who said you might know more about the conversion as you did the spectrum graphics. If you can help with any information, i'd be very grateful. Also, did you ever work on any other projects which never saw the light of day? (Not Parasol Stars on the C64 I suppose )... Martin I think bought your C128D off you, and he said there were a few bits on there.

Hi
Sorry I coudn't be more helpful, can't remember! I may have started, but that was it, as the company then- Canvas, liquidated.
I wasn't best pleased with the spectrum graphics due to the shortage of time to produce them. If anyone else can remember please - do tell! (Simon Butler, the Calverts, Kev Connolly, John, etc.) Everthing would have been on the C128D I gave to Martin, as it was redundant & going to be thrown otherwise! I do have a magazine up in the loft with screen shots of the speccy version. (it looks like a speccy screen shot on that website).
I miss Martin, he was a good person. Loads turned up for the funeral. He would have been chuffed.
Yes, I have worked on other stuff that never saw the light of day!

Thanks Dawn, At least I know now it was Canvas behind the conversion, which I can write up for the time being. The screenshot was from a Swedish magazine that claimed to reviewed the C64 version or something. Not sure how legit that is, but thats why I added the scan for the time being. I was really shocked with Martin's passing. I had just spoken to him about 2 days before, passing on more funny web links .. He will be missed. Would it be ok to spool off a quick list of any titles you remember you worked on for the C64, but that never saw the light of day?... Thanks again Dawn.

Real world kind of sucks, whereas 10-18 years ago I was at school without a worry in the world .... Now there's tax, bills... oh and a nice healthy student loan to pay back Also games coming out was more exciting then than it is today IMO. Growing up with games like Midnight Resistance on the C64, and having friends round playing loads of multiplayer stuff was a great time

Yeah I know wat you mean. I was just out of school and had one of the best jobs I was EVER likely to have. I was working at THE 'Ocean' with people I'd HEARD of. I was still a fan and when someone 'famous' turned up I'd tell my mates next time I saw them.
"Yeah. I went for dinner with Martin Galway", "Jon Ritman came in last week", " I had to go buy 3 kinder eggs from the corner shop last week, one for David Ward, Jon Woods and Colin Stokes! They chuck away the chocolate but keep the toys for their desks" etc...

Blimey - they'll be a blast from the past... I found a hoard of C128 source disks the other day - I must get around to converting them to see what there is - I'll bet there's the code to go with the graphics!
