It was John Gibson with graphics by Simon Butler on the Spectrum. I'm guessing Simon had a hand in designing it, if he didn't do it all himself. Simon?

Actually all I did was come up with the title...it was that period in the industry when you'd throw ridiculous concepts about and see who would bite. I came up with the ludicrous Cosmic Wartoads and Denton Designs thought it was good, so they asked me to design the characters and then John Gibson coded it and my good friend Steve Cain did a fantastic job on the graphics, especially the animation on the Toads themselves. It was a funny old game...I remember playing it extensively but can't remember if I ever completed it...old age taking its toll on the brain cells.

I actually wish I had done the graphics...cos they were lovely...very sparce, very odd but beautifully animated. Steve put long hard hours into those things... Damn stupid game though...but they were damn stupid times those early years.
Fun though...not like now.
