Someone emailed me recently saying that an old magazine talked about Ocean doing a film licence of Wings Of The Apache for the C64, Spectrum and Amstrad.
Can anyone confirm if this was true, and if so, what happened to it?

Wings Of The Apache was the US title for the film 'Firebirds' (about the Apache helicopter). We licensed that, but I don't recall (for a change!) what happened with the game. If it was developed/published then it certainly would have been released under the 'Firebirds' title. The movie didn't do much at the box office, and I suspect the game wouldn't have either (if it was released).

Did it have Willem Defoe(sp?) in it?

Is Elmer about? I'm sure he started off doing Wings of the Apache at Lancashire House on the Gameboy and then it got dropped in favour of Navy Seals. I can't remember Wings or Firebirds shipping?

Did it have Willem Defoe(sp?) in it? Nope. Nic Cage and Tommy Lee Jones. Probably a movie THEY would rather forget too.....

Thanks for the info guys.. i'll do a write up on it soon. I don't expect that this game turned into Navy Seals on the C64 aswell, as the game was released so near to Wings Of Apache being mentioned.
