Gryzor was best on cpc and not as good on other versions - i saw an rzx / rxz (wat do u call those things ?) of the speccy version of gryzor and collision detection was awful, the graphics werent as detailed as the cpc and had an ordinary ending while it had a good ending on the cpc version. Hey, I saved that rzx.. at least it had a proper scroll, unlike the flip screen of CPC version ;D

Problem was everyone just got on with their version of the game in the early days. I remember moaning at Colin at the time about the space to jump on the 64 - it made no sense. On games like Untouchables, Renegade and Robocop there was a concerted effort to make the same game across all platforms as far as possible.
I think the 'strad Gryzor looked and played the best of all versions (it beat the 64 on playability just because of the god awfull spacebar requirement)
Can't agree about other versions of midnight resistance - the Amiga version was arcade perfect (ie bloody hard!) ;D

[quote author=judasEZT Hey, I saved that rzx.. at least it had a proper scroll, unlike the flip screen of CPC version ;D [/quote] agreed but it didnt deter from playing the game.... theres another difference between formats i didnt mention... To your knowledge was there any differences in the scrolling capailitiy of cpc compared to the rest ? I never saw the amiga version of Midnight resistance.... amiga versions would probably be the best game versions ? i dont know never got to use one ever... must get an amiga emulator - can anyone recommend a good amiga emulator and where to find it ? cheers

The best emulator is WinUAE, you need also get the roms, Kickstart1.3 and 2.0 will be the more useful. hmmm.. maybe will be a hell to you to make it run correctly, post if you have some problem. you can download these and lot of games from www.planetemu.netbtw, it worths to look BatmanTheMovie and Robocop2 from Amiga

I got MaxUAE on the Mac, got the kickstarts and workbench but can't get the damn thing to load in any roms! EEEKSS! I can put the disk (rom) in the disk drive and then when I try and open it all I get is the message 'The icon(s) have no default tool'!

The games must to be in ADF extension,.. Maybe you inserted the game zippped/sitted, try to unzip/unsit.
The kickstart file must to be selected as boot ROM file
apart of that you must to select: CPU 68000 FullECS graphics RAM 512k chip and 512k slow
With that many Amiga500 games should work. Disable sound if runs slow, or simply reduce the sound frequency.

Im using the MaxUAE GUI front end to configure it. I can find everything and set it as you said.
The game files are unzipped as adf's.
Still get the same error message. The disc I 'insert' comes up on the emulators desktop but when I double click it won't openand get message about icons!
Any ideas?

On WinUAE you just mount the disk and then virtually reboot the amiga and the games autorun - no need to click anything on the Amiga desktop.

I've got 'Typhoon Thompson' mounted in DF0 (and I tried DF1 and 2 and 3), I reset the emulator and it just keeps telling me to put the fecking workbench in the fecking disk fecking drive!!
